CLIENT: Liberty Global
BRIEF: Personal Customer Environment - Multibranding
POSITION: User experience + interaction design and visual art direction at Liberty Global
By far the biggest and most interesting project I worked on. With a team of interaction-, user experience- and visual designers we’ve created a brand new ‘personal customer environment’. The version we’ve created at Liberty Global (the mother company) is to roll out in all the countries and brands. We’ve used the UPC branding and the NL market as a base, but we had to adjust all screens according to the country. This since each country have their own specific payment system, products and laws to follow.
Brands I had to work on: UPC, Ziggo, UPC Cablecom, Unity Media, Telenet and Virgin Media.
Apart from adapting the new customer environment into the rest of the brands/countries, we also had to modify some interaction on the sites behaviour like the example below for Virgin Media:
ISSUE: Virgin Media brand needed to look for a solution for the mobile responsive behaviour since it was desktop based.
SOLUTION: One of the most important things to fix these issues was to translate the desktop behaviour to a mobile responsive screens where the space has the most important role. First was to include an autocomplete tool to make it handier for the user. Filters are hidden and will slide down underneath the header when the filter icon is pressed and also they will be displayed folded in. When a filter is selected, a delete button with the name of the filter will appear on top of the results. This helps users to know the interaction of delete process plus will make them remember which filters are being used to display the new results.:
Another big project I had to developed while I was at Liberty Global was to create the customer service App for Poland where it had to give the same interaction and functionality than the user could find in their website.
Because the laws and restrictions of the country we had to re-make features to match their expectations apart from creating new features the client wanted to be included.
